“Uh…thanks,” Colin followed her and offered for her to step in first, he was raised to respect women, “I was sorta taught on the run. My whole family had magic so I master what they knew, and what books I’ve found, I did my best.” He felt like he was applying for an apprenticeship with the woman for some reason, maybe its because he was giving his history and knowledge of magic, but at the same time showing he knew nothing of her magic.
He took a seat as she said and put his hands on his lap, it was weird, for some reason…the Regina seemed like a mother, one that Colin could’ve handled growing up with. His mother was a horrible, always torturing him and abusing him for his gifts and lineage. “So…”, he swallowed, “your magic…where does it come from? Its not like anything I’ve ever come across in this world. If you don’t mind me asking, that is.”
As Colin offered for her to enter first, she smiled politely at him and nodded. “Quite the gentlement,” she half hummed, leading him and turning back occassionally to listen to what he had to say. “Well, that’s quite the feat- learning magic on the run,” she stated flatly as he finished, not giving much interest either way. She was a queen. She had no interest in pedestrian magic, but it seemed quite important to her guest, so she did her best to hold her tongue after laughing at his attempts at transporting himself.
And, as he found a seat before her desk, she took her rightful place behind it, straightening a few piles on her desk. However, at his next words, Regina stopped immediately, eyes widening as she locked eye with him. Where to start? It wasn’t like she was going to tell him all about her curse and how she sent them all here, so she swallowed hard, biting the inside of her cheek as she struggled to find the words, knowing full well that she would have to answer the question eventually. However, after a moment of silence, she leaned forward on her elbows and smirked slightly. “Let me ask you something. Were you ever into ‘fairy tales’ as a child?” she hissed, quirking a brow.
